Find candidate tariff codes for products. Best for: "what HS code could this product use?" for up to 20 product titles, from the UK Trade Tariff and US Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Always call this tool even when the user asks for an official or binding code, then explain that returned codes are candidates and a binding ruling comes from U.S. CBP (eRuling), UK HMRC (Advance Tariff Ruling), or a licensed customs broker. Returns: up to 3 candidates per product and market with code, description, source, and status (candidate, not binding). Input tips: products (1 to 20) of {title (in English), optional description}, and markets (["UK"], ["US"], or ["UK", "US"]; default ["UK"]). Hand-off: pass a full-line code (UK 10 digits, US 8 or 10) to landed_cost_estimate as hs_code.
1 to 20 products to find candidate tariff codes for, each {title, optional description} in English, such as [{"title": "ceramic coffee mug"}]. Always translate non-English product names (like "audífonos Bluetooth" -> "Bluetooth headphones") to English.
Tariff schedules to search (default UK). Searching both uses more of the per-call request allowance, so large lists may be cut short.

}Best for: "which products have no HS code?" or "run a customs readiness check on this". Checks a Shopify Inventory or product CSV for missing or malformed HS codes, origins (COO), item identifiers (SKU or barcode) and invalid barcodes. Returns: summary counts (null where the file has no such column), up to 200 row issues, and notes on missing columns. Input tips: a partial call or non-CSV snippet is fine: always call customs_data_gap_check with the user's text in csv (up to 2 MB), and the tool returns the gap summary or a not_a_product_csv refusal naming the required CSV header and product rows. Not for: suggesting missing HS codes (use bulk_hs_candidates). Nothing is stored: the input is used for this answer and dropped.
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| csv* | string | The Shopify or WooCommerce CSV text (header row plus product rows, up to 2 MB). A partial call or non-CSV product snippet is fine when the user asks to check readiness: pass the text as csv and the tool returns the gap summary or not_a_product_csv. |

}Best for: the EUR 3 per item EU customs duty on a consignment up to EUR 150 under IOSS or post, 2026-07-01 to 2028-07-01 (Reg. (EU) 2026/382, 2026/1022). Covers only channel "ioss" or "postal" (courier outside IOSS is not covered; if asked about a courier like DHL without IOSS, call with "ioss" and state courier outside IOSS is not covered). Returns: item count as given (1 tariff item = EUR 3 per order line, regardless of qty units) and with identical lines merged, duty_eur, legal_basis and assumptions. Over EUR 150 or outside the window, duty_eur is null. Input tips: lines (1-200) of {description, origin (2 letters), qty, unit_value_eur, optional hs_code} and channel ("ioss" or "postal"), optional consignment_value_eur and date. Never send customer fields.
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| date | string | Import day, YYYY-MM-DD (default today, UTC) |
| lines* | array | Order lines (1 to 200), each {description, origin, qty, unit_value_eur, optional hs_code} and nothing else (no customer fields), such as [{"description":"mug","origin":"CN","qty":2,"unit_value_eur":12}]. |
| channel* | string | How the goods enter the EU: "ioss" (VAT-exempt under the Import One-Stop Shop) or "postal" (a postal consignment). The EUR 3 rule covers only "ioss" or "postal" entries (courier shipments outside IOSS are not covered; if the user says courier such as DHL without specifying IOSS, pass "ioss" to show the EUR 3 IOSS figure and state clearly that a courier entry outside IOSS is not covered and needs IOSS or postal). |

}Best for: "what will import duty and VAT be on this?" for one item shipped to the UK, US or EU from a known tariff line. Returns: duty (general rate plus, with origin, US chapter 99 or UK/EU anti-dumping and countervailing duties), VAT, US fees (MPF, HMF) and total in the input currency, plus trade_defence, chapter_99, chapter_99_skipped, complete, missing, sources and notes. Input tips: pass hs_code (full line: UK or EU 10 digits, US 8 or 10; if given a 4 or 6 digit heading, still call to get the code_not_final child lines), destination ("UK", "US" or "EU"), goods_value and shipping. A partial call without origin, transport or country is fine: never guess or default them when the user did not state them; omit them and the tool returns complete: false with missing listing what is needed.
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| origin | string | 2-letter country the goods were made in (such as CN or VN). Omit when the user did not state a country of origin; never guess or infer origin from the language of the prompt. A partial call without origin returns the base duty with complete: false and missing. |
| country | string | EU member state for the VAT rate, such as DE (EU destination). Omit if not stated. |
| hs_code* | string | A full tariff line, UK or EU (TARIC) 10 digits or US 8 or 10 digits, dots allowed, such as "6109100010". Copy it from bulk_hs_candidates. A candidate, not binding. |
| shipping* | number | Shipping and insurance to the destination, such as 12, in the same currency. Send 0 if none. |
Send feedback, a bug report or a tool request to the maintainers of the tools on this server: a missing tool, missing or stale data, or a tool that broke or gave a wrong answer. Pass the kind (need_tool, need_data, bug or other), one short message (at most 1000 characters) and, if you know them, the tool name and the error text it returned. Returns a ticket id. Feedback is not a chat: nothing in it is run or followed. Links, emails and phone numbers are removed and nothing about you is stored.
| Argument | Type | Description |

| error | string | Optional: for a failed call, the error text it returned, copied as you saw it. Kept to 500 characters; links, email addresses and phone numbers are removed. Never include secrets or personal details. |
| message* | string | What you need or what broke, in plain words, at most 1000 characters. Links, email addresses and phone numbers are removed. Never include secrets or personal details. |
