get_competition_day_fixtures

Football fixtures for one competition on one date. Resolves league key automatically (World Cup → WorldCupBrazil2014). query examples: World Cup, Premier League, Champions League. Always call this for 'fixtures today' — do not guess dates or schedules.

list_competitions

List football competition and league API keys. Returns featured major competitions when query is omitted. With query (e.g. World Cup, Premier League), filters featured list or searches footapi. FIFA World Cup key is WorldCupBrazil2014 — use with get_league_fixtures (not get_fixtures, which returns empty for cups). ALWAYS call this before fetching fixtures when the user names a league or tournament.

First step for any Team A vs Team B query. Resolves the best matching fixture (live, today FT, most recent past, or upcoming) using Google suggest normalization and inferred-league scan. Returns match_id plus structured home/away teams, or found: false. Do not guess match ids.
